Abstract

Digital agriculture is a data-driven future agriculture to improve productivity and economics by applying advanced ICT to conventional agriculture field. Various technologies for digital agriculture are being actively developed around the world. The technologies for digital agriculture include acquisition and delivery of data using IoT, a data platform, AI-based services, and automated and autonomous agricultural machinery or robots. In addition, standardization for digital agriculture is being promoted through major international standardization organizations such as ITU-T, ISO TC 23. Although standardization for IoT technology is entering a mature stage, other technologies fields are still in the early stages. Therefore, this paper propses a direction for standardization to promote the spread of digital agriculture based on the trend of development and standardization of major technologies for digital agriculture.
