Abstract

Evaluation of transverse spray deposition of a sprayer is necessary to evaluate the efficacy of spraying and to determine the effective spraying width of the sprayer. However, this evaluation test method of Unmanned Aerial Spraying System is not yet established as International Standard. This purpose of study is to select a most feasible collector material for spray deposition test of Unmanned Aerial Spraying System. The criteria of collector selection are absorption property, hydrophilic property, easiness of handling and price. Five different paper; water sensitive paper, Kromekote (KK) , Medley Velvet (MV), Enso Coat (EC), Symbol Gross (SG)) were selected. Test of water contact angle and recovery ratio of each paper were conducted with 5 repetitions. Average water cantact angles are measured as MV (56.5°), KK (62.8°), SG (63.1°), and EC (73.3°). In the recovery test, known amount of spray tracer applied on the collector is washed in pure water and quantified using spectrophotometer. Revovery ratio of MV and KK are 102% and 97%. The most feasible paper are judged as MV that shows high hydrophilic property, high recovery ratio, and easiness of handling and low price. Water sensitive card is not recommended because it is expensive and hard to handle in field condition because of its sensitiveness to water.
